OUR QUALITY POLICY
SHEMSI’s mission is to assist clients to operate their business in the most effective manner possible through the use of a philosophy of continual improvement. We achieve this by helping our clients to benchmark their quality, environmental, occupational health and safety and corporate performance against recognised national, international or other system standards and, where required, aid them in implementing systems to improve their effectiveness in these areas.
SHEMSI perceives quality as meaning identifying and providing the services our clients require. Our aim is to add value to our clients’ activities and where it is evident that SHEMSI is unable to achieve such an objective to advise the client accordingly and decline their request for assistance.
In order to control our activities and demonstrate to our clients the achievement of this objective we utilise a systematic approach to providing client services. This requires the setting of policies, the use of documented procedures, development of project or other plans and the recording of results. Our consultants understand the need to work with our clients to fully appreciate their requirements. They are assigned to clients on the basis of their competency and know the value to both our own and our client’s reputation of completing the task correctly without errors the first time. They uphold the view that we can never be satisfied with our standards, and must always be looking for a more cost effective way of adding value to the client’s activities.
The delivery of a high level of service quality is essential to SHEMSI’s survival and as such we seek to ensure that our work process is monitored internally within our organisation, by an independent person and the results by the client. This monitoring provides the ongoing confirmation that our objectives are being met.
OUR ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY AND HEALTH POLICY
SHEMSI provides environmental, safety and health and related consultancy services to both Malaysian and international clients.
We recognise that in providing these services we may place the safety and health of our employees at risk through the physical, biological, chemical and other hazards created within their place of work and through the advice we give to our clients there is the potential to cause harm to the environment and create risks to the safety and health of our clients.
It is our policy to identify those activities and services, including advice that have the potential to cause significant environmental impacts and/or create safety and health hazards and risks our employees and the clients and to eliminate where practicable or minimise through treatment or other means their impact or the risk they pose.
Our overall objective is to protect the environment and to continual improve our environmental and safety and health performance. We will set measurable objectives and targets in terms of environmental improvements related to our significant impacts and aim for the elimination of work-related injury and illness.
As a part of meeting this objective we are committed to complying with and exceeding, where practicable, the relevant environmental and safety and health legislation and other requirements of Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
Our clients, employees and contractors are encouraged to read, understand and maintain the intent of our policy within our organisation and to communicate this policy to all those whom have an interest in our activities and the services we provide.
This policy will be reviewed periodically along with the results of our environmental and safety and health performance and changes made to reflect our ongoing commitment to the environment and the safety and health of our employees and clients.
